This one's for the chocoholics out there.
I love chocolate! Do you know what I love even more? Flavoured chocolates!
But, alas, finding flavoured chocolate, and finding it at a decent price, is quite a challenge. So I present to you a recipe to satisfy your craving with minimal damage to your funds!
Be warned however - if you leave these unattended you may return to find them long gone!
Materials:
You will need at least 2 microwave-safe bowls, and a silicone chocolate mould.
*Ingredients:
3 parts milk chocolate (I use
Nestle or Cadbury)
1 part dark chocolate
1 part dark chocolate
Strawberry Oil (3-5 drops per 100g chocolate or
to taste)
Optional:
White Candy Melts (as many as there are chocolates)
Pink Food Colouring
Cooking Instructions:
1) In a microwavewable safe bowl gently melt the desired amount to milk and dark chocolate together.
2) Add the strawberry oil to the melted chocoalte and stir well. Different brands and amounts of chocolate require different amounts of flavouring so make sure to taste test often. ;)
3) Spoon the chocolate into the mould (making sure that the mould is 100% dry before hand)
4) Refridgerate the chocolate for 30 minutes or until set.
5) Pop out from the mould and enjoy!
Optional:
If you're chocolate shape has a little dip or hole in the top as mine does then you have the option to fill it with decoratively coloured candy! To do so...
6) In a microwaveable safe bowl melt the Candy Melts.
7) Add a very tiny amount of food colouring to the melted Candy, stirring
colour through.
8) Using a butter knife, gently decorate your chocolates.
9) Allow to set and enjoy!
*The milk and dark chocolates can be substituted for whatever kind of chocolate you prefer.
**This recipe is very flexible and allows you to use any flavour oil. I myself have recreated it using cherry oil and orange oil as well!
